COMM GAMES TRIAL - AIS CANBERRA 26-28 MARCH

I headed up to Canberra early Friday morning, the flight out of Launceston was delayed due to the late arrival the night before of the last flight. This made for an interesting day as this meant I missed my connecting flight from Melbourne to Canberra... Nothing too serious, just meant I had to sit in the airport for an extra 2 hours and that is always fun. Got to Canberra eventually but my bow case did not, it arrived some 4 hours later... Better late than never. Had time for some practice during the afternoon between the nutritionist and sport psych.
Saturday and Sunday was all about shooting and matches against each of the other male compounders. In total I had 20 matches with 14 wins, 3 ties and 3 losses... Pretty happy with shooting and results. My scores and results against each apponent are listed below.
Each end is a set and the best of 3 sets

  1. Is the score against rob turner wrong as it shows a tie but the scores say he beat you by 2 points ?

  2. Its the way of the new system, each 6 arrows is a set... so does not matter if you loose the first set by 10 points, if you win the next two by a point each... you are the winner of the match even though you scored lower. Each set is now a match and its the best of the 3 sets.

  3. Wow! Great shooting Clint and thanks for posting some results of the "secret" trials. Your average over 54 ends is 58.315 , or just about a 350 average.Would be very interesting to see the stats for the other participants, but I suppose that would be divulging National "secrets" and possibly show the weakness and bias in a subjective selection system. Did you guys do any Team Match play, as it was my understanding that was the focus for the Commonwealth Games, but I suppose that is still 6 months away, enough time to test and trial it at the World Cup Games?
